We are excited to announce the return of our ranch internship program for its third summer. After two successful seasons, we are eager to welcome new, talented individuals to join ranches across the Sandhills of Nebraska. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in ranching, acquire valuable skills, and forge meaningful relationships.
The Sandhills Task Force is proud to partner with several successful ranchers in the Nebraska Sandhills to offer this excellent internship opportunity. This paid, three-month-long summer internship program includes room & board and additional paid educational opportunities. We welcome applications from all individuals who are 19 or older. This opportunity is open to everyone who shares our passion for ranching, livestock production, and rangeland management.
We seek candidates with a strong interest in ranching and an eagerness to learn. The internship will involve various components of on-the-job experience, mentorship, and training tailored to the intern’s knowledge and interests. Interns can expect to gain hands-on experience in livestock production, rangeland management, and ranching. They will also have the opportunity to learn from experienced ranchers and gain valuable insights into the industry.
The Sandhills Task Force will serve as a facilitator to assist in matching interns with ranchers. The Sandhills Task Force will support the internship relationship in several ways, but ultimately, the internship is a relationship between the intern and the host ranch. Partial funding is provided by the Nebraska Environmental Trust and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
