About the event
The day will start with an optional tour beginning at the Johnstown Fairgrounds on the north Main Street in Johnstown, NE. Registration will start at 7:30 A.M. Central Daylight Time, and the caravan-style tour will leave at 8:30 A.M. We will visit the Beel Ranch to learn about their stream restoration site on Plum Creek, and then we will visit the O’Hare Ranch to look at an eastern red cedar site and a planned prescribed burn.
The rest of the celebration will occur at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine, NE, starting with lunch at 1:00 P.M. The afternoon will feature speakers sharing information about the current accomplishments of the Sandhills Task Force, a look back at the beginning and some speakers highlighting different aspects of the beautiful and unique Nebraska Sandhills. Feel free to come early and socialize if you do not plan to go on the tour. If you would like lunch, please register for the full day.
The full day, including lunch and a nice steak supper, is $45. Supper only is $35. All students are $15.
Registration is requested by September 7th to allow us to plan for food.
